Who is she???

She is me! My name is Rachel and I am the face and backbone of Rachel Marie Photography! I have been in business for about 4 years and more recently full time business since August of last year. I specialize in newborn photography, but also do families and seniors. I previously worked for 8 years in local hospitals as a nurse tech in Mother Baby Care, NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) and Labor and Delivery. Having this background gives me the confidence and knowledge I need to safely capture tiny newborns!

The passion I have for caring for new mommas and their tiny babes crossed over when my passion for photography basically began to consume me. Putting the two together to specialize in newborn photography was a no brainer! I am so happy to be where I am!

I have always been facinated with photography which was easy, being that my grandfather is an amazing photographer himself. He has a dark room in his house and we grew up being in front of the camera all of the time. Every family function or activity was photographed or recorded. Having those memories is priceless for our family. But the history of my photography journey is even more priceless. It runs deep in my veins. I eat, sleep and breathe photography. I promise, its a healthy obsession :)

I am not just a photoghrapher and nurse tech, I am also a wife and momma to 4 beautiful kiddos! When the life of being a busy chaotic family isn't enough we do football year round. My husband is a youth football coach and 2 of our 3 boys (we also have a girl, the baby :) play football spring and fall. On top of school and just being normal kids our lives are pretty busy!

This blog will be a mixture of blogging sessions that I want to share, and tips and tricks for the newborn photographer! I strongly believe in building community over competition and sharing tips and tricks with fellow photogs is the perfect way to do so.

Taken by the ever talented Britianie Tyler Photography!
